So, I decided I would try a rotary blade sharpener because I go through blades at an alarming rate and, as you know, they are spendy. I bought one off Amazon for about $40 but unfortunately, when I got it and plugged it in – nothing happened. At that point I wasn’t feeling very optimistic. However, when the replacement came and I tried it out, I really liked it! All you have to do is oil up the sharpening stones (there are 2), drop your blade in, lock it and press the button. It really does seem to sharpen well – not super, hyper-razor sharp like the ones right out of the package, but it does give me more use out of the blades. As far as deep nicks go (you know, from when your 12 year old used it to cut balsa wood for his science fair project!!), I haven’t seen that it does much for those. It can sharpen 28, 45 & 60 mm blades and is a nice size to store. Overall, I think it was a good investment and I’m happy! Now if they could just come up with one for pinking blades…
